I hold two degrees from Minnesota State University Moorhead, home of the Dragons.
As an undergraduate I pursued my bachelors degree in psychology and also minored in philosophy. I completed my degree in three years and then was accepted into the masters program.
My masters degree is in Counseling with an Emphasis in School. That being said, I have training in the over arching field of counseling but I specialize in school and working with students kindergarten through 12th grade.
Throughout the 2021-22 school year, I worked in the Sioux Falls School District, as both a counseling intern and a substitute teacher.
As a counselor I worked at Lincoln, and as a substitute I worked for Roosevelt, Washington and Jefferson high school. I also worked in multiple elementary and middle schools.
My work experience is unique because it allowed me gain perspective from both a student centered and a teacher centered view. I am hopeful that this will allow me to better do my job at helping students and teachers connect throughout the school year.
