Project Reflection

Project Reflection is an initiative centered on promoting positive self-image and raising awareness about eating disorders and unhealthy relationships with food. Through this project, we focused on educating and empowering individuals to recognize the importance of self-acceptance, mental well-being, and healthy habits. We explored protective practices such as self-care, setting realistic expectations, building supportive relationships, and challenging harmful societal standards, all of which can help reduce risk factors like body dissatisfaction, comparison, and misinformation.

Our family medicine consultant was Dr. Maheswari Chinimilli, MD, a physician specializing in family medicine. With years of experience providing holistic care to patients of all ages, Dr. Chinimilli has a deep understanding of preventive care, chronic disease management, and patient-centered treatment approaches. She was instrumental in guiding our campaign by emphasizing the importance of accessible healthcare and its impact on overall well-being. Dr. Chinimilli also helped us explore how family medicine bridges physical and mental health, providing valuable insights into addressing community needs effectively. Her expertise played a key role in shaping our understanding of health disparities and ensuring our initiative remained practical and impactful.
