When a student and their IEP team opt for a Certificate of Completion, it's essential to align their courses with their post-high school trajectory and IEP goals. Here are some considerations:

1. Work-Based Learning Courses:

   • These courses focus on developing practical skills and experiences relevant to the workplace, preparing students for employment opportunities after high school.

2. Functional Living Courses:

   • Functional living courses aim to equip students with the skills necessary for independent living, covering areas such as personal care, household management, and community engagement.

3. Financial Literacy Courses:

   • Financial literacy courses provide students with essential knowledge and skills related to managing finances, budgeting, banking, and understanding financial systems.

Access to General Education Courses:

• Even if a student is pursuing a Certificate of Completion, they should still have access to general education courses. These courses offer valuable academic and social experiences that contribute to a well-rounded education.
