Change begins with a choice—the decision to amplify our voices, stand for progress, and make a difference. Our voices hold the power to create reverberations, echoing from Mauka to Makai. For over 50 years, students from across the islands have gathered at the Secondary Student Conference to address educational issues with diverse perspectives. This year, the Hawaiʻi State Student Council is making the Choice to Voice, turning advocacy into action through legislative engagement. By amplifying youth representation, we aim to inspire lasting change in Hawaiʻi's education system for future generations.

About the Secondary Student Conference
§317-1 Purpose. The purpose of this chapter is to provide for the establishment of an annual conference of secondary school students, (grades seven to twelve) which will enable students in our secondary schools to identify, discuss, and arrive at recommended solutions to major youth problems, with emphasis on school problems that require the attention and joint action by the students, the department of education, and the legislature. The conference format may be a state student conference, a student governance summit, or district-centered conferences as determined by the student conference committee.
