Welcome to an exciting new chapter in your educational journey! At Kealakehe High School, we believe in preparing every student for success through dynamic education and meaningful connections. Your high school experience begins with choosing a home (academy) that aligns with your interests and aspirations.
INTRODUCTION TO ACADEMIES
Our academies are designed to make your high school experience more meaningful and relevant to your future. Think of an academy as your "home base" - a learning community where you'll:
Connect with teachers who know you and your goals
Study alongside peers who share your interests
Engage with real-world projects and experiences
Build relationships with community partners and businesses
Develop skills for college and career success
CHOOSE YOUR ACADEMY HOME
At KHS, we offer three academies. The three academies are Creative Arts & Leadership (CAL), STEM, and Sustainable Communities (SC).
In your freshman year, you will pick your home. Your home will be one of your three elective classes and will be an academy foundations class. Here are the foundations for each academy:
CAL Foundation - Foundations of Business and Marketing
STEM Foundation - Foundations of Engineering
Sustainable Communities (SC) Foundations - Foundations of Agriculture, Food, & Natural Resources
Below are the pathways that you will explore in your freshman foundations class. When you are registering for your sophomore year classes, you will choose one of the pathways within your academy home. Check them out here:

REGISTRATION KEY DATES
DECEMBER 11 - 9th Grade Registration Begins
Curriculum Showcase and 8th Grade Parent Night
JANUARY 10 - KIS 8th grade visit to KHS campus
JANUARY 17 - Waikoloa and Innovations middle schools visit KHS campus
JANUARY 24 - All pre-registration completed (including those students participating in full distance learning)
