Welcome to our website for After School Programs!  Here you will find general information, the course catalog, registration form, schedules, and flyers.

Announcements (new)

Oct. 29, 2024: Thank you for signing up for Session 2 classes!  The lottery is complete and confirmation/waitlist letters will be going home by Wednesday, Oct. 30.  If you do not receive a letter by Oct. 30, please let Mrs. Nakamura (lisa.nakamura@k12.hi.us) know right away.

Keep your confirmation letter for reference.  There are important dates and some classes that have special announcements.

If you have family/friends at Pauoa, please help to spread the word that our after school programs has this google site and registration forms are all online (unless they request a hard copy).  For grades 3-5, Video Production, Strength & Conditioning, and Mana Mele 2 still have open spots.  

General Information

After school programs (ASP) provide enrichment and extracurricular opportunities for our students.  We have a combination of classes offered: classes provided through the school and classes provided by outside vendors for a small charge.  A lottery will be held for classes offered through the school.  Outside vendors’ classes are on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Important note: After school tutoring takes precedence over extracurricular programs.  Your child’s teacher will be in touch with you if this is the case.  If your child is in tutoring and wants to participate in programs provided by outside vendors, sign up only if there isn’t a scheduling conflict.

Please consider your schedule as well as your child's schedule before submitting a registration form. For your child to be most successful in an after school program, he/she is expected to attend all sessions, be on time, in class for the whole session, and picked up on time if not in A+.  

We would like to make you aware of situations that are grounds for removal from any class.  We will make every effort to work with you and your child before we take this drastic step.

• Disruptive and/or disrespectful behavior

**Siblings of students in any program must be picked up as we are not able to offer supervision.

Next steps

1. Before you register, please view the Course Catalog.  Pay special attention to the age group and schedule.

2. Register using the online Registration Form.  If you need a hard copy registration form, contact your child's teacher or Mrs. Nakamura, (808)587-4500 or lisa.nakamura@k12.hi.us 

Timeline

1. Registration forms are due by 2:30 pm on Oct. 24.

2. LOTTERY for classes offered by Pauoa will be held after 2:30 on Oct.24.

3. Confirmation or waitlist letters for classes offered by Pauoa will be sent home by Oct. 30.

4. Session 2 starts the week of Nov. 4.  Classes offered by outside vendors are ongoing.  

5. No classes on Nov. 5, 11, 28, and 29 as these are school holidays.

6. Last day of Session 2 is Dec. 20.  Outside vendor classes may have a different end date.

Other Important Message(s)

*A note about After School Programs Lottery - We will try our very best to place students who were waitlisted for Session 1 and who sign up for a Session 2 class.  But please know that priority does not guarantee a placement as classes are contingent upon the amount of spaces we have available.
