Calling all little champs! Our program is designed to ignite curiosity, foster new skills, and promote physical wellness in a fun, safe, and supportive environment. At Champ Camp, we get kids moving with a variety of sports and exercises tailored to all ability levels. We also build character through team activities, in which kids will learn life skills such as perseverance and sportsmanship. Come join us for a fun-filled fitness experience!

Be a part of Pauoa's first Chess Club! The purpose of Chess Club is to promote the following topics:
A healthy sense of personal wellness, both physically and mentally.
An example of a positive alternate activity.
An emphasis on being part of a team, demonstrating cooperative behaviors and sportsmanship.
Provide opportunities for students to demonstrate their multiple intelligences.
Chess Club members will be expected to stay on top of their schoolwork, have good sportsmanship, be respectful to others, listen to and follow instructions, and maintain regular attendance. Space is limited. Sign up today!

Honolulu Community Action Program, Inc. (HCAP)
Kumu Parker
The Hā Initiative is a fun and creative place for kids in grades 2 through 5 to spend their after-school time. Through this program, kids learn and grow by exploring the worlds of Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM).
The program is free and provides participants snacks, tutoring, and an opportunity to meet other kids and engage in exciting hands-on science projects and computer activities. They can also join a LEGO League robotics team!
Activities for Participants: LEGO Robotics, FIRST and Junior FIRST LEGO League Robotics Competition, Science Experiments, Creating original music, Field Trips for student and families, Family Nights
This class will be filled using Pauoa's registration form and lottery system. Once the roster is formed and you receive a confirmation letter, you will be asked to fill out a HĀ registration form. This class is a year-long class that starts in Session 1; once enrolled, you will not need to enroll in subsequent sessions.
Note:
If enrolled in HĀ, this will be considered your after school program; you will not be able to double roster in another free program unless space allows. Thank you for your understanding.

In this afterschool class students will learn how to write original news stories and record them for broadcast on the Pauoa News, Pauoa's weekly news program. Classes will be held on Tuesday and Thursday.

Kumu Ashton
Area of Focus: Mele Hawai'i & Music Performance
Students learn the basics of music performance and Hawaiian culture through singing, playing, and storytelling. With a focus on teamwork, confidence, and aloha, students will also perform at events throughout the year.
*Students who enroll in this class are highly encouraged to enroll in Music Technology with Kumu J on Tuesdays. Please indicate your interest on the registration form.

Students explore how technology supports music and performances, learning to use tools like microphones, mixers, and recording devices. Hands-on activities help build skills and confidence.

Create a hands-on collection of all your favorite memories! Each week, students will design themed pages, from favorite foods to family and friends, using colorful paper, photos, and stickers.

Kumu Imada
Join our new Sewing Club and learn a practical skill while having fun! In this first session, you'll create useful items you can actually wear or use. Along the way, you'll develop fine motor skills, spatial reasoning, and problem-solving abilities.
We have space for 6 students and welcome all applicants! While we'd love to have everyone, students who can commit to attending both classes (Tuesday and Thursday) will have priority, as this helps you complete your projects and get the most out of the session.
Optional: bring cotton holiday fabric (2-3 fat quarters or half a yard) or scrap material for all to use.
Please note: First day of class is Nov. 10.
Classes are held at Pauoa. Registration is ON YOUR OWN. There is a cost involved, except for 21st Century. Please contact the vendor directly if you have any questions.
You may sign up for as many paid classes as you wish, as long as there isn't a scheduling conflict with your child's Pauoa (free) class or tutoring (if applicable).

This after school program is funded by 21CCLC which makes it a free program for all Pauoa students this school year. Opportunities include Math and Language Arts tutoring, outdoor sports, STEM activities, and more.
This program is a year-long class that follows the A+ schedule; once enrolled, you will not need to enroll in subsequent sessions.

Girl Scouts will change our world! Girls can earn badges designed to help girls navigate a changing society. From learning how to use digital content to make a world a better place to using math to explore the great outdoors, Girl Scouts is providing hand-on experiences that improve the leadership students show every single day. Girl Scout badges are a great way for a girl to explore her interests and new skills – and to remember her every adventure and show the world what she’s accomplished. For the benefit of girls at Pauoa Elementary, we are excited to offer an afterschool troop.

Robotics classes dive into the exciting world of robotics with our hands-on class using LEGO® Education kits. Perfect for curious minds in elementary through middle school, students work in teams to creatively explore, build, and design unique solutions to real-world scenarios. In each Robotics class, students build a robot, letting their creativity and imaginations loose. Along the way, they learn science and engineering concepts, such as how pulleys, levers and motors work. They’ll discover how to apply computer programming concepts and find new ways to get their robot moving. At the end of each robotics class, students participate in a wrap-up activity to reinforce the skills they learned in class.

Get your kids learning functional movement while having as much fun as possible! We encourage the kids to get active in this class while dancing and singing to their favorite songs. We value coordination, connection, fun and creativity and love to see the kids express themselves through dance. Our aim is to get sweaty and keep the kids engaged. At the end of each session we love to perform the choreography for parents! See you on the dance floor!

Learn to Animate with Mr.Kai and Mr. Michael!
Keiki Animation is a fun, hands-on class that will help bring your keiki’s ideas to life! Through storyboarding, character design, and learning how movement works, kids discover how cartoons are made. This class guides them step-by-step as they create their own animated stories, building creativity and storytelling skills along the way. Plus, students who enroll in three or more classes receive a free animation workbook to keep the fun going at home.
As an added bonus, Q1 enrolled students will get to see their stories premiere at this year’s CAFF for Kids screening at The Honolulu Museum of Art Doris Duke Theatre in November 2026!

Learn to Code with Mr.Kai and Mr. Michael!
Keiki Coding is a fun, hands-on class that helps your keiki bring their ideas to life through coding! Using Scratch, kids learn core programming skills and game logic while creating their own interactive stories and games. This class builds creativity, problem-solving, and computer skills in a supportive environment. Students who enroll in three or more classes receive a free Keiki Coding book.
The program culminates each semester with a special Keiki Coding Celebration presentation where students showcase their projects and share their achievements with family and friends.
