Aloha Na'alehu Elementary School 'Ohana,It is with immense humility and excitement that I introduce myself as your new principal. It is truly a privilege to continue to serve the haumana (students) of Ka'u, the community I call home.For those I haven't had the pleasure of meeting yet, my name is Jason Britt. I was born and raised on the beautiful island of Guam, and I am now embarking on my 17th year of service within the Hawaii Department of Education. My journey in education began as an English and Career and Technical Education (CTE) teacher at Wai'anae High School on O'ahu. I have served as a vice principal at multiple schools, most recently, Ka’u High & Pahala Elementary School for the past seven years.My core belief, one that has guided my entire career, is that all students inherently want to learn and deserve the highest quality of education possible. Every child holds incredible potential, and it is our collective responsibility to nurture that potential.My goal for Na'alehu Elementary is to build upon the great learning opportunities that already exist and ensure that every student is encouraged to explore and discover their passion in education. Together, we will strive to create an environment where curiosity is sparked, learning is celebrated, and each child feels empowered to grow. Ultimately, I am committed to preparing our students to become positively contributing members of our community, equipped with the skills and mindset to thrive.I look forward to working alongside our dedicated teachers, staff, and families, to continue the tradition of success Na’alehu Elementary represents and help our school grow to meet the needs of all our keiki.Me ka mahalo nui,Jason Britt Principal, Na'alehu Elementary School
