Aloha; I have been teaching art & media courses at Molokai High School for the past 24 years.
My family moved to Hawaii in 1967, I was raised on Oahu and have been a resident of Molokai since 1979. My wife was born and raised on Molokai up in Maunaloa, we met at Maui Community College in 1976 and were married in 1981. We left college to work and I ran JoJo's Cafe in Maunaloa with my Mother-in-law Josephine Espaniola from 1980 to 1990
. My wife and I decided to go back to college after our daughter was born. We moved to the Big Island in 1991 to attend the University of Hawaii at Hilo and returned to Molokai after graduating in 1996 and we have been teaching at the high school since the 1996-97 school year. I have my Bachelors in Art and have earned National Board Certification in Fine Arts. I am an artist, play the harmonica and guitar, have been surfing for over 40 years, and have a wide-variety of work experience and interests that I feel allows me to connect with students different career goals and interests. I enjoy working with the students and watching their creativity and confidence grow as they progress through my program and develop their own personal voice in their work.
