CELEBRATING 100 YEARS OF NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY...
1921-2021
National Honor Society was established in 1921. It is a prestigious organization that recognizes academic achievement as well as those who excel in leadership, service, and character.
Welcome to the website for the Kea'au High School Chapter of the National Honor Society. Our chapter was proudly established in the 2001-2002 academic year.
NHS membership is open to students in grades 11 and 12. In order to be considered for membership, the student must meet the minimum academic requirement which is a weighted, cumulative GPA of 3.5.
Each year the NHS faculty council selects new members based on their excellence in character, service, leadership and scholarship. Selection as a member of NHS is an honor bestowed upon the student by the school.
Members are required to do 8 hours of service each year, and maintain a weighted, cumulative GPA of 3.5. Once membership is forfeited, it cannot be regained. First year members in good standing wear a stole at graduation, second year members wear both a stole and a medallion.
