Determining your classes starts with taking a look at the information provided in the Kaua`i High School Course Registration Booklet You will find information about courses, programs and requirements to take courses at Kaua`i High School.
Taking a look at the Upper Academy Programs of Study can also be a great guide in determining what Academy course there is for your to take and the other options available to you as a senior.
Career & Technical courses also known as "Academy Electives" have a specific sequence in which the courses must be taken.
Students that complete at least 2 consecutive courses within the same Program of Study (POS) will meet graduation required 2 required elective credits and are considered "Completers" and may be recognized at Graduation with a Program of Study Cord or Stole to symbolize this achievement.
Student may also received with their diploma a CTE Honors Certificate if they have a 3.0 in the POS courses as well as an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0.
Use the Registration Planning Doc for your grade to help you in determining what you will sign up for when completing your Kaua`i High School Course Registration for Grade 12.
You'll complete the Kaua`i High School Course Registration for Grade 12 form to register for your SENIOR YEAR classes at Kauai High School.
Should you need to make different choices at a later time, you can simply submit another form. The most recent date received will determine which form has your main selections of courses.
Advanced Placement courses will progress at a faster pace than one might be used to and will push a student past their current limits. By voluntarily signing up for an AP course and completing the agreement, students and their parent/guardians are acknowledging that the student will work hard and comply with the requirements of the AP program detailed further on the agreement.
Submit AP Agreement Form by January 22nd, 2026 ON TIME. NO late forms will accepted.
Important Information for Students Registering for an Early College (EC) Course at Kauai High School
Students must:
Meet prerequisites for specific EC courses, which are listed on pages 17-19 of the Kaua`i High School Course Registration Booklet.
Complete all required enrollment paperwork and dual credit applications. These items have firm deadlines and will not be accepted late.
Submit the Early College Agreement Form on time, by January 22nd, 2026, to the EC coordinator, Mr. Benjamin Kershner. Submissions can be made to his office, main office box, or via email.
Be aware that no EC course is guaranteed to be scheduled, even if registered for on time.
Take EC courses exactly as registered; no dropping a portion of the course is allowed. Paired courses must be taken together.
The final approval process must be completed by May 29th, 2026.
You must submit your completed application and all required documents to your counselor at the same time for processing.
In-person delivery is required. Deliver your application and proof of employment or Running Start enrollment directly to your counselor's room or office.
Your counselor must receive your complete application by May 29th, 2026 to ensure it goes through the approval process and procedures.
To start the SY 2026-2027 with a modified schedule, your counselor-approved application must be officially marked as received by the end of June 2026.
