Read anything you like. Try something new. Read your favorite stories again. Itʻs all up to you. You get to choose what and how much you read. Then log your minutes to earn special Hawaiʻi badges in this state-wide reading challenge!
The Hawaii Reads challenge encourages students to continue to improve their reading comprehension skills. The more reading a student does, the more opportunity he or she has to build important literacy skills while discovering the joys of independent reading. The #808Reads utilizes Beanstack, a reading tracking app, to encourage students and provide teachers more data on students’ free-choice reading. The statewide reading goal is 8 million minutes.

Password = birthdate (MMDDYY)
Employee Log In:
Username = 8 digit employee ID
Password = 3 digit school code and 8-digit employee number (279XXXXXXXX).
2024 Summer Challenge
Join the #808Reads summer reading challenge to read, learn, & play all summer long!
Students and families will have access to free reading and enrichment activities all summer long. Resources include a reading challenge through Beanstack, the Sora eBook collection, live virtual author visits, online book discussions, and other engaging and fun summer activities selected especially for students by a team of certified school librarians.
All students and families are invited to log their summer reading and participate in the summer reading challenge. Please complete this form to receive email announcements, updates, and information about virtual events your children can participate in this summer.

To encourage families to continue to read through the summer and participate in the summer reading challenge, the 2024 Summer Badge Book-Hawaii Edition are available to purchase for $7 each (Reg. $12.95). FREE shipping.
The badge book is a reading log and calendar that is designed to match the digital reading challenge theme. As families track their reading on the Beanstack web application and mobile app, kids earn badges matched to stickers in the book.
