Procedures & Rules in the Library Media Center
Library Media Center Safety Procedures:
Hours of Operation:
Monday/Tuesday/Thursday/Friday @ 7:30 am - 2:45 pm
Wednesdays @ 7:30 am- 1:55pm (CLOSED after school for staff meetings)
1 person per computer station
Please sanitize your hands upon entering the Library Media Center.
You MUST sign-in and have your school ID to enter the Library Media Center to use computers/printers and or browse or borrow books.
Code and Conduct:
The Library Media Center supports academic research and projects.
Students shall refrain from being loud and disruptive while in the Library Media Center.
Eating and drinking is NOT allowed.
During class, students MUST have their classroom Library pass - one student per pass, two passes per classroom
If more students need to come down at a time during class, please sign up your entire class
Failure to follow the above will result in dismissal and or suspension of the use of the Library Media Center.
Printing:
B/W printing for educational purposes are available (please ask permission before printing). Please bring your own paper if printing for a class assignment.
Color copies are available for $1.00/copy (please ask for assistance)
Policies and Procedures
Borrowing:
Students MUST have a current Ilima Intermediate School ID to borrow materials/ use computers.
Borrowing period is two weeks.
Students may check out up to (2) items (for up to 14 days/2weeks).
If there is an overdue book or fine, students will not be allowed to borrow books until books are returned or fines are paid.
Students should check books for damages BEFORE leaving the Library Media Center and report them to staff.
Books will be sent home in plastic pouches, please keep your books safe in these pouches and return them with your books.
Books at Home and School:
Students should use clean hands (hand wash/ sanitize) before and after reading books.
Take care of the books while reading/using them. Remember to turn the pages carefully.
PLEASE DO NOT WIPE DOWN or CLEAN BOOKS with water or any other chemical agents. This can cause additional damages to the books.
Keep books dry and away from moisture or liquids.
Keep books away from food and drinks.
Keep books safe in a backpack or bag when transporting them from place to place or when not in use in their plastic pouches.
Book Renewals:
Students may renew a book once. After that, the book must be returned and shared with other students who wish to borrow the book.
Books should be brought back to the library before the due date to avoid overdue notices.
Book Returns:
Students may drop off the book in the book drop off to the right of the Library Media Center doors.
Students may also drop off books in the drop off inside the Library Media Center on the left side of the circulation desk.
Fees:
Overdue book(s) - No Charge
Damage or Lost Book(s) - damages will be assessed and fees will be given accordingly to replace or fix to recirculate the book(s) in the Library Media Center
Refunds will be given if a lost book is found in good condition within 1 year of payment and the original receipt is provided (per DOE guidelines)
