August 2022-May 2024 Fellowship Professional Learning Opportunities
Hawaii State Teacher Fellows will participate in professional learning experiences focused on:
Reflection and Goal Setting for Leadership and Growth
Building and Sustaining a Professional Learning Network
Data Collection and Facilitation
Writing and Publishing
Policy and Advocacy
Leading Professional Learning
Effective Communication
In addition, Fellows will receive monthly individualized support and coaching in progress towards their leadership goals.
The Fellows will use their leadership skills to bring teachers’ voices to the table of decision-makers and collaboratively design and implement a passion project aligned to school/complex/state priorities. Fellows will be facilitating statewide teacher leadership opportunities and designing collaborative spaces for peer to peer learning beyond contractual teaching hours.
Outcomes will include:
Set a goal aligned to one or more school/complex/state priorities and design & implement an action plan (to be completed by May 2024)
Write and seek to publish at least one piece per semester in either a local or national publication
Participate in at least one Hawaii State Department of Education state/complex leadership-level meeting per year (outside of set convenings)
Collaborate with education stakeholders to advance public education
Approximately 20 participants will be accepted into the Hawaii State Teacher Fellows Program. Fellows will receive a stipend of $1,000 per semester.
