Classrooms with every student in attendance will receive a letter each day to spell out "CKES"!
The Hawai’i Department of Education defines “chronic absenteeism”, when a student misses 15 or more instructional days in a school year for any reason.
At Chiefess Kapi’olani we want to encourage ALL students to be in school every day. Our ATTENDANCE HERO (Here, Everyday, Ready, and On-Time) program gives classes the opportunity to earn awesome incentives for demonstrating positive attendance.
Individual students are recognized for their positive attendance at our quarterly awards assemblies.
How parents can support positive school attendance:
Stay in contact with the school. Notify the school office (974-4160) for all student absences and communicate any concerns or difficulties your child may be experiencing with the school.
Establish healthy habits. Healthy children are ready to learn!
Create consistent routines at home, having set bed-time and morning routines can help students be ready for their school day!
