Will we ever find a cure for cancer? What is the best treatment for diabetes and arthritis? The Nursing Services Program of Study provides opportunities to explore questions such as these and lays the foundational knowledge and skills students need for careers in healthcare. Students begin by exploring the services, structure, and professions of the healthcare system. The remainder of the program focuses on general skills and expectations for health professionals, which include promoting wellness, maintaining a safe environment, and practicing good communication, collaboration, and leadership. Using real-life scenarios and application-driven activities, students learn the responsibilities and challenges of being healthcare professionals.
Certifications offered: First Aid, YouScience Industry Proficiency Certificate
Training Programs offered: Nurse Aide, Medical Assistant (offered through a partnership with Hawaii Pacific Health)
