Radford Chromebook Handling:
Do not pick up the computer by holding the screen. Always pick up your CB by the keyboard half of the computer when open. Screens have cracked even when picked up by the plastic edges of the lid.
Keep items off your CB. The screen may crack if uneven pressure is applied. This can also happen in your bag also. Always put the screen side next to a book/binder/notebook that is the same size or larger than the computer. Make sure nothing small goes into your bag between the computer and the book.
Keep pencils, pens, or objects off the keyboard. The screen will be damaged when you close the lid if the object is still there.
Do not eat or drink near the computer or while using the CB. Computers do not like liquid, grease or crumbs. Your keys will be hard to press down if something goes under it. DO NOT PRY OFF keys to clean them out. The key switch breaks easily. You will be responsible if it breaks.
Charge your computer safely! Please make sure the 2-part power cables are put together well before plugging in to charge. Make sure to have your CB plugged into an outlet that is not overloaded, has nothing flammable near it, and where the CB will be safe from being hit, dropped, or have things put on top of it.
Please do not wrap the cords around the charger or make tight circles with the cables. This causes the internal wires to be come twisted and they can never be fixed. Please make large loose loops with the cable and fasten them with the Velcro fastener. If you do not have a fastener on it, you may use a twist tie, rubber band, ribbon, or string.
Cleaning your computer:
Moist disinfecting wipes can be used for the outer case and keyboard. Do not wipe keyboard, track pad or any ports with wipes that are wet. Only use damp cloths. Squeeze out extra moisture before cleaning. Excessive moisture will cause damage and corrosion.
To clean the screen, place the back of the screen flat onto a table and gently wipe. Put some water on a SOFT cloth, microfiber or tissue and lightly wipe. If you disinfect the screen, you can spray disinfecting spray onto your soft cloth and wipe. Never spray directly onto the screen. Wipe off the excess chemicals with another soft, clean cloth. Chemicals and/or excess moisture are not good for the screen surface.
Clean the cord with a disinfecting wipe, concentrating on the high touch areas on both ends.
