A negative about living in the Mountains and Basins region is because there is such a high elevation. You are also living on sea level so gas and other polluted things could harm your health. Even though there is a lot of pollution there is also a lot of fresh air and water. Lastly, there is so many fun activities you can do in the mountains. You can go skiing, observing wildlife, sledding, and way more.
Climate
This is the driest region getting about 16 inches rain/year. It is also very windy in this region, tornadoes hit here. It is very hot, and the temperature can hit up to 120 degrees Fahrenheit. This effects people's life because it means they will have to drink more water and have good air conditioning.

Apache also lived in tipis. The shelters were mostly made by woman. They help build structures and repair the dwellings if anything happened to them. They also lived in wickiups. They are dome like shapes with lots of brushes covering them. The Apache has a lot of good shelter.

Alvar Nunez- Cabeza de Vaca was an explorer that explored Galveston, Tx. This is in the Gulf Coastal Plains region in Texas. He took a route going from the mid part of the Gulf Coastal Plains and going up to the Mountain and Basins region. The motivation he had was to find gold. He was very desperate to find gold or any other rich items. He came to Texas by accident then started to try to find gold. He failed and found nothing in Texas, so he decided to go back to Spain where he came from. He discovered Galveston in the Gulf Coastal Plains, and he was also the first European to enter Texas. Cabeza de Vaca's country of origin was Spain.
