Model UN aims to replicate the conversations and debate that take place in the United Nations within the high school environment, encouraging students to be aware of global issues on a deeper level, discover the meaning of decorum and how to apply it in the real world, and finally, learn to collaborate in order to come to a resolution.
At the conference, the student will represent another country as its delegate and attempt to solve real-world issues such as global security, equality, and nuclear proliferation. During these simulated conferences, discussions are based on the policies and perspectives of their assigned country- the experience combines diplomacy, public speaking, international relations, and the implementation of regulatory measures in conferences to come to a resolution.
