Please take advantage of the grade level optional resources found on this page. The resources were designed to help keep your child engaged and focused on learning. Feel free to look at other grade levels for additional activities. We will update links and resources as they become available. The sample schedule below is a guide to help parents organize the enrichment activities.

Language Arts

Reading Skills

This At–Home Activity packet includes two parts, Section 1 and Section 2, each with approximately 10 lessons in it. iReady recommends that your student complete one lesson each day. Most lessons can be completed independently. However, there are some lessons that would benefit from the support of an adult.

Over 1,000 books available for students to read and/or listen to. Students can select from picture books and chapter books and decide if they want to read or read AND use the audio feature. Your own personal library on your computer. Search by grade level or subject.

Writing

Great website for students to listen to and read along with various poems. Students can explore poetry by age group or theme.

Brain Pop offers engaging reading, writing, and grammar skill videos. For free access, parents must create an account.

Language Arts

IXL Language arts offers grade level practice with Reading, Writing, Vocab, and Grammar & Mechanics skills.

Daily topics that are grade level appropriate!

Education.com provides students with basic practice with language and grammar based games, worksheets, and guided lessons. Some features of the website require a free parental registration.

The unplugged activities below are designed to be used with items found in the home. This week’s BINGO goal is to get 4 boxes in a row. They can be in any order, as long as they are in a straight line. *Bonus* Parents submit a picture of your child completing any of these activities here!

Math

Number Sense

Grade level specific videos and activities for students to practice. Students select activities from a menu of skills.

Interactive practice with 440 discrete grade level math skills. Students/Parents may select from various categories (i.e. decomposing fractions, multi-step word problems, classifying triangles, etc). Examples are provided for additional support. Please note; the practice IXL Math provides is primarily procedural practice. If available at home, students can use manipulatives to help support their mathematical thinking as they reason through problems.

Math Concepts

YouCubed tasks/activites/games are designed to help students understand how manth works while making connections to real world application. For access, scroll down and click on the activity's title. For optional printable components and/or further explanations, click on "Get Handout".

Math Fun

Math games, lessons, and resources for students by skill (addition, subtraction, etc.) There are also manipulatives students can use to solve math problems.

Math Playground offers learners simple interactive games that provide students with basic practice in general grade related math topics.

Science

Critical Thinking

Students can watch a variety of science-related videos, filtered by grade level. There are also lesson plans with activity sheets for parents to print (optional). Many of the lessons can still be done without the printed materials (visuals, question prompts, etc. to check for understanding). Many of the videos can be viewed in Spanish.

Exploration

The Daily DE features a grade-band appropriate learning activity for every day of the week. From digital interactives to virtual field trips to fun science experiments and more, these daily activities are great for keeping the learning going at home! Mystery Science lessons are designed to engage students and achieve learning outcomes. This resource has short digital lessons and full digital lessons that include an activity. All of the activities are designed to use simple supplies a parent will likely already have at home.

Investigation

IXL Science offers several NGSS grade level,science skills for students to explore.

Students can explore a variety of different high interest topics (Science and History related) through games, videos, and exploration tabs.

Social Studies

Our History

The website is packed with articles, worksheets and even a quiz on each section. Families will find games and activities about various historical events.

Our World

The Library of Congress offers a large selection of historical related text & video collections (sample topics: The Great Depression, Rosa Parks, The Civil War, Immigration, etc). Families can navigate the website to find topics of interest.

This website offers social studies related information, organized by topic. Families can explore American and World History topics.

Our Community

"Our Story" stories and activities are designed to help children and adults enjoy exploring history together through children’s literature, everyday objects, and hands-on activities. Each OurStory module examines a moment in American history through a work of historical fiction and related activities and includes a reading guide for parents and caregivers.
