Coloring can be used as a form of meditation. You become relaxed and calm as you color. We decided to create coloring stations for our faculty and staff.
We saw students coloring during the passing period but we weren't sure how they were working when a student is struggling in class. Then a wonderful teacher came to thank us for the coloring studio we placed outside her classroom. She had a student who was struggling during class. The student was visibly upset. The teacher asked the student if she wanted to go out and color and come in when she felt better. The student agreed and while coloring, calmed herself down, stopped crying, and walked back into class 10 minutes later with a smile on her face ready to get back to Algebra. Our hearts are full!!!
