The British Film Institute is delivering a summer screenwriting academy. This course has been designed to give participants a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet experts, write scripts, learn practical skills and collaborate with like-minded people. They are accepting applications from any 16-19 year old living in the UK. No formal educational qualifications are required, just a passion for writing!
The British Film Institute’s Screenwriting Academy will have two weekend residentials during the summer holidays and additional online sessions. During the course participants will work in a group to write short scripts and they will also be supported to write their own individual script.
Course Details:
1. Workshops, Q&A’s and master classes with award winning scriptwriters, producers and development execs.
2. Group tutor support with professional scriptwriters.
3. Becoming a BFI Alumni with opportunities for future work experience.
4. A live read-through of the group script with professional actors at the end of the course where participants can invite family and friends.
5. Filming of the individual script read by an actor.
Application deadline: 13th June 2021
Fee: £50 however fees will be waived if the participant needs financial support. Travel bursaries are also available.
