The Flute
This instrument is usually played to the side. You blow across the hole. The flute is one of the highest instruments in the orchestra.
Different Kinds Of Flutes
The smallest flute called the piccolo. Sometimes it is black.
The head joint is the section you blow over.
Some head joints, have a golden lip rest.
The longer the flute- the lower the sound.
The longest flute here has a curved head so the player can still reach all of the keys.

The Oboe- Long, and black with a double reed
Oboe players make their own reeds. It can take 10-20 HOURS every week for a professional player.
Oboe players have to exhale after each line, so they don't pass out!

The bassoon is a woodwind instrument.
It is a double reed instrument, just like the oboe.
The bassoon is 4 feet long, but if you straightened out the tube inside, it would be 8 feet long.
To play the bassoon you must use every single finger and both of your thumbs to play all of the keys.
