The 2021-2022 school year will be Mr.Cadiz's sixth year as the music director at the John Swett Unified School District. For the past decade, he has provided music instruction to hundreds of young musicians across the San Francisco Bay Area. At JSUSD, Mr.Cadiz leads the marching and concert bands and oversees the theatre studies, colorguard, and percussion ensembles at both John Swett High School and Carquinez Middle School.
Mr.Cadiz's teaching career began at the age of 16 with the Concord Blue Devils "C" Drum and Bugle Corps where he co-taught the front ensemble. After two years with the young drum corps, he began to fall in love with the art of teaching. Throughout his collegiate years, he taught, organized, and composed for the marching percussion activities at Jesse M. Bethel High School, Hogan Middle School, Oakmont High School, and many others.
A graduate summa cum laude of California State University: Sacramento, Mr.Cadiz was the recipient of: The Nick Angiulo Music Education Scholarship, The 2015 Scoring and Arranging Competition, Principal Horn in the Symphony Orchestra, and many other awards and recognitions. He is also a Drum Corps Interational Open Class Champion with his contribution to the Blue Devils "B" Drum and Bugle Corps during their 2009, 2010, and 2014 seasons.
Mr.Cadiz is proud to call the John Swett USD his home for the last six years and is ecstatic to create and teach music for generations to come.
