California State University (CSU) / University of California (UC)

4 out of 8 Personal Insight Questions are required to be submitted with your application. This is not required for CSUs. Give yourself ample time to work on them!

Community College

FT3: "First Time + Full Time = Free Tuition" 

**Available at Contra Costa Community College District (CCC, DVC, & LMC)**

The Contra Costa Community College District (District) has announced free tuition for first-time, full-time Contra Costa College (CCC), Diablo Valley College (DVC) and Los Medanos College (LMC) students effective Monday, August 27, 2018, the first day of the fall 2018 semester. The District will provide free tuition for a full year to eligible students under the California College Promise, a statewide initiative to fund free tuition at community colleges. 

In order to receive free tuition for up to one year, CCC, DVC and LMC students must meet the following requirements: 

· Be a first-time college student

· Complete the District’s Pledge Application

· Complete the FAFSA or California Dream Act application

· Complete an educational plan

· Enroll in and complete a minimum of 12 units

· Maintain a 2.0 GPA 

Make the pledge for FT3 after you've completed your community college application and FAFSA/CADAA application.

California College Promise Grant

**Available at ALL California Community Colleges**

For eligible California residents, the California Community Colleges Promise Grant permits enrollment fees to be waived. (Assistance for the purchase of books and supplies must be applied for separately.)

Many California community colleges offer online California College Promise Grant applications through CCCApply.

When you use these financial aid online applications, the data you've entered in CCCApply will be transferred automatically, making your financial aid application much easier and faster.


Private Schools

Many private schools use the Common Application for admission, but check the school's website for more information! 

The UC (University of California) college system has announced they are no longer requiring or using the SAT for admissions purposes. If you choose to submit test scores as part of your application, they may be used as an alternative method of fulfilling minimum requirements for eligibility or for course placement after you enroll. are offered admission, you can submit your official essay/writing scores to your campus of choice. Certain scores may be high enough to meet UC’s Entry-Level Writing Requirement.

The CSU (California State University) system has temporarily suspended the SAT for admissions.  

Private and Out-Of-State colleges may still be required to send SAT scores. Check with admissions at the school(s) you're interested in.
