New Student Login Procedure for Canvas

Beginning April 13, 2020 all students are asked to login to Canvas through Clever. When students attempt to sign in using the Canvas portal page they will need to use their @jpsms.org username and password.

Math

Find math lessons from Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry and Pre-Calculus . Students will receive lessons taught by actual certified teachers.

Math Planet - Math planet is an online resource where one can study math for free. Take our high school math courses in Pre-algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2 and Geometry. We have also prepared practice tests for the SAT and ACT

Language Arts

Achieve 3000 - Reading and language arts practice.

Scholastic Learn At Home - A variety of learning resources for students of all ages designed to keep students reading, thinking and growing. It has a Shout Out section, which allows students to see what is new, including virtual author events through Scholastic Home Base.

Science

Stuff Works-Designed for K-12 learning of all science concepts in real-world applications explaining the way various items are created and function in the world. The site uses illustrations, charts, and graphs to explain the detailed workings of everything from light bulbs to weather phenomena, space craft to submarines, nuclear fission to how ice cubes melt.

Science News for Kids-This website educates students on science-related topics in the news. News items—such as the decline of the population of honeybees and how forensic science is used to solve crimes—are explained with kids in mind. The site is more appropriate for middle and high school students, but again, younger students can benefit from it with some adult interpretation.

The Exploratorium- The Exploratorium isn't just a museum; t's an online learning approach to ongoing exploration of science, art, and human perception.

History

National Geographic - The National Geographic Education website offers extensive, high-quality, standards-based resources relating to geography and other topics, such as world history, biology, oceanography, ecology, engineering, cartography, and current events. The classroom resources are divided up into two general areas: the Resource Library and the Mapping resources. The Resource Library is the heart of the educational materials. The Mapping resources are invaluable tools for classrooms of all grades.

Actively Learn -is a digital reading platform that allows teachers and students to interact within readings and/or assignments. This online tool allows students to read a document as a class/group, making comments and answering questions throughout the reading. The teacher can evaluate such notes and quiz answers.
