The library high school book group was created in August of 2007 as a venue for students to have an opportunity to sit and chat about books. We began meeting weekly during high school lunch and have continued that tradition. The group of 9th - 12th graders meets every Tuesday at lunch in the library. Bookmarked has also been instrumental in helping the librarian with author visits, fund raising, and special library events like TeenTober and book fairs.
A virtual author visit was held on February 22nd with Rachel Griffin who wrote The Nature of Witches. This was the first author visit for Bookmarked since December 2019. Rachel spent 45 minutes chatting with students and gave them lots of time to ask their questions. We had heard that her second book, Wild as the Witch that will be published in August of 2022, was about witches and assumed it was a sequel. She explained that the witch element is similar but this book is in a totally different world. See more pictures and read all about this event here.
