We had another stellar night at our Homecoming game! We received tons of compliments, and our students sounded great! We'll have this weekend off, and then we'll be performing next week at Pontiff playground.
If anyone has video or pictures to share from any of our performances, please add them to our google drive via the link below. Thanks!

All Band students are working toward our upcoming Halloween Extravaganza performance, featuring some fun (and spooky!) music. We will perform on Friday Oct. 29 28 at 6:30 in the Haynes Gym. We'll be sorting out costumes and other fun details over the next few weeks, and we invite everyone to join us for this fun concert! (The correct date is Oct. 28.)
Last (but certainly not least!), we will soon be holding a Dad's Day, to make some general repairs and upgrades to our trailer. If you are interested in breaking out the power tools and working on our trailer, please contact Mr. Phelan.
For our newer members, the All State Bands are chosen from across the entire State of Louisiana. Everyone tries out on the same piece of music, and the highest scoring players get to be in the All State Band. We have two Concert Bands, an Orchestra, and a Jazz Ensemble. The best player on each instrument is called "First Chair," and this is an even bigger honor.
Jazz Ensemble auditions were held a few weeks ago, and we have received the results ...
Congratulations to Sam Korn, Jack Roane and Livy Best for being selected to the All State Jazz Ensemble. We are all incredibly proud of you!
A special congratulations to both Sam and Livy for earning First Chair in their sections!

All students are welcome to join us for Marching Band. They may not be able to play every note or rhythm, but they will learn lots from the older students, and will have a great time, too! (Students must attend all practices to participate in the football games.)
Please note: Only Haynes Band students may sit in the Band section.
All Marching Bands students must have the following supplies and uniform items:
Flip Folder (with extra pages)

Jazz Band One is our top Jazz performing group, focusing on performing challenging music at a very high level. We will rehearse after school Wednesdays. Students must be members in good standing of the Haynes Marching and Concert Bands to participate in Jazz Band.
Please ensure that your student has their own copy of the Essential Elements for Band Book 1. We are making great progress toward our debut performance at next month's Halloween Extravaganza
Our students continue to improve each day, and we are having fun! We're choosing our Halloween music over the next weeks, and can't wait to perform it for you.
Our Jazz Band Two rehearses every Monday until 4:45. Jazz Band Two is our training group for younger or less-experienced musicians. We will focus on learning the basics of Jazz, and our music selections will be tailored to fit our younger players. Any Band student in good standing may participate in Jazz Band Two, regardless of instrument or experience. Older students are welcome to join us, even on secondary instruments.
Please visit our Calendar for all the latest updates, and feel free to contact Mr. Phelan at any time with questions or concerns. We look forward to seeing everyone soon!
