Band Camp was GREAT! Our students learned tons, and we are off to a great start for Marching Season! Thank you to everyone for their flexibility, especially with getting all of our students picked up on time.

Students may drop off their instruments in the Band Room before school, and pick them up at the end of the day. We will be working out a pass for students to leave class a bit early to enable them to pick up their instrument and not miss the bus.
For our parents and supporters who come out to cheer on our students at football games, we have a Varsity Football Season pass available this year for $40. (Regular admission to home games is $12 each.). Purchase yours via this link:

The Haynes Academy Band charges a $30 annual fee, which covers the purchase of music, transportation, etc. This fee has been posted to student accounts. Please contact Mr. Phelan with questions or concerns.
Our Marching Band will begin rehearsing after school on Tuesday August 15. We are planning to perform at the District VI Marching Festival on October 30 (for the FIRST TIME EVER!!!), so attendance at all Marching Band rehearsals is imperative. To accommodate the new facility, practice will end at 5:00, and students will be ready for pick-up at 5:15. We invite ALL students to participate in our Marching Band.
Marching Band students will need solid black pants, solid black shoes, and their Haynes Band t-shirt for all performances.
All State Audition dates have been set (and are posted on our Calendar). Audition materials may be found via our Auditions tab.
All State Jazz auditions will be held Sept. 9 at Riverdale High School.
All State Concert and Symphonic Band auditions will be held Sept. 16, tentatively at Haynes.

We are off to a great start! Almost everyone remembered their instruments, and we are already sounding good. We are looking forward to our upcoming Halloween Concert!
A whole class of just drummers !?!?!?!?! What were we thinking ?!?!?!?! Seriously, though, we had our first day of playing this week, and this is going to be FUN!!! We have the space and the equipment now to really explore many facets of Percussion, and we can't wait to show off for you at our Halloween Concert!
We have been exploring various instruments all week, and some of us have even decided which instrument we will play this year! (The rest of us will decide during our class on Monday.). Parents should receive from their student a "Welcome to Band" letter with lots of helpful information. Please email Mr. Phelan with additional questions.
We are excited and ready to play, and we have loads of talent just waiting to be tapped. Our first performance will be during our Halloween Concert in October.
