Congratulations

What a week!

Our students have been amazing all year, and we wrapped up the first portion of the school year with our AMAZING Haymesarama performance!!!

ALL of our students looked and sounded great, and we can't wait to start working toward our Spring performances.

We also had a wonderful experience playing and socializing with the I C Imagine Charter School Wind Symphony! Thanks to Mrs. Julianne Korn, Ms. Jamie Molero and Mrs. Jackie Camardelle for coming out to help with our lunch

Thank you to everyone who came out to support our wonderful young musicians!

Congratulations also to our All State performers! We learned tons and had lots of fun in Baton Rouge.

District Honor Band Auditions

All times for auditions have been posted. See all schedules and audition materials on our website (under the Auditions tab). Contact Mr. Phelan with questions or concerns.

For our ACT students, you may audition whenever you arrive that day. Let Mr. Phelan know that you will be taking the ACT that day, and we will move your audition time back. (No worries :)

Also, the audition fee of $5.00 is now due. Please turn in your payment to Mr. Phelan at your earliest convenience.

Upcoming Musical Opportunities

USM All South Honor Bands

The University of Southern Mississippi will be hosting their annual All South Honor Bands Feb. 10-12 on the USM campus in Hattiesburg, MS. See all the details via the link below, including audition information and fees. (Everyone is welcome to participate; auditions are simply for placement among the three Honor Bands.) This is a wonderful experience for ALL High School Band students! We encourage everyone to participate. There is a discount for registering before Dec. 1, so get moving :)

College Auditions

It is never too early to begin exploring some of the musical opportunities available at virtually every University on the planet. Students are welcomed into University ensembles REGARDLESS OF MAJOR, and will likely receive additional scholarships in return for their participation. (If you are enjoying High School Band, you will LOVE College Band!). Mr. Phelan is always happy to assist with contacting the college folks, setting up an audition, etc.

Mr. Phelan also collected tons of college flyers and posters at the All State convention. Stop by to see all the goodies!

Jazz Band One

Jazz Band One will resume practice this week, Wednesday until 5:00 pm.

Next week (Wed. Dec. 7) we will be joined by Mr. Doug Stone and Dr. Mollie Redfield from LSU for some serious sectionals. Please make arrangements to stay until 6:00 pm this day, so we can get the maximum possible time with these amazing clinicians.
