Middle School All State Results

Congratulations to several Haynes Academy musicians, who were selected by audition to the LMEA Middle School All State Ensembles!

Selected to the All State Middle School Jazz Band were:

Selected to the All State Middle School Concert Band were:

Valerie Gaffney on Oboe

Vedant Ramesh on Alto Saxophone

Ella Cao on Percussion

Selected to the All State Middle School Orchestra were:

Special recognition goes out to Ella Cao, who was selected to both the All State Orchestra (on violin) AND the All State Concert Band (on Percussion), and to Norah McKinney, who was selected on Trumpet to both the All State Concert Band AND All State Jazz Ensemble!

And, ... an EXTRA SPECIAL RECOGNITION goes out to Valerie Gaffney, who was selected to the All State Choir (as a Soprano), the All State Orchestra (on violin), AND the All State Concert Band (on Oboe)!

Congratulations to all of these talented musicians!  We are incredibly proud of all of you!  (Each of you should have received an email from Mr. Phelan with instructions on registering for All State.  Email Mr. Phelan with questions ASAP.)

Football Wrap Up

The Haynes Marching Band has enjoyed another season of performing at football games!  Thanks to everyone who has come out to cheer us on this season!  Please help us to thank Mr. Jacob Russo for always volunteering to pull our equipment trailer, and Mr. Daniel Lauten for helping our drum line to rise to new heights!

US Army Field Band Jazz Ambassadors - Workshops at Haynes !!!

We enjoyed having several members of this outstanding ensemble on our campus!  Our students were able to work with them and ask questions, and they even sat in and played with us on a few tunes!  Read more about this group via their website (linked below).  A special THANK YOU goes out to our Haynes teachers who allowed our students to attend these workshops!

Band Parents' Group

We're forming a Band Parents' Group for Haynes Academy!  If you are interested in joining, please email Haynesbandparents@gmail.com. (New Email Address). All are welcome.   We’re planning the first meeting after the Thanksgiving break.

Morning and Afternoon Procedures

Students may drop off their instruments in the Band Room before school, and pick them up at the end of the day.   Students may not loiter in the Band Room before school.

Band Fee

The Haynes Academy Band charges a $30 annual fee, which covers the purchase of music, transportation, etc.  This fee has been posted to student accounts.  Please contact Mr. Phelan with questions or concerns.

Student Information Form

We ask all parents to fill out the Student Information Form on our website, to continue to receive our weekly-ish email newsletters.  This will also allow you to include additional email addresses as needed.  Thanks!
