Our Marching Band will be traveling to Metairie Academy and Airline Park! We'll be bringing a brief Halloween performance to both schools, and we look forward to sharing our music with them! If we have any little brothers or sisters at either school, please let Mr. Phelan know, so we can give them a "shout out" :). We will be sending home field trip permission forms next week, which must be signed and returned before your student will be allowed to travel with us.
If you have any pictures or video from any of our performances or activities, please share them to the folder linked here. Thanks!

Our Marching Band had a solid performance for our Homecoming Pep Rally! We sounded great, and we added tons of spirit and enthusiasm to the event. It was also great fun for our students to cheer on their peers!

We'll be set up in the courtyard (weather permitting!) and we can't wait to perform for all of our future Yellow Jackets! We'll again be ordering pizza for students who remain on campus. Please send $3.00 with your student to cover the cost of pizza.

All students are welcome to join us for Marching Band. They may not be able to play every note or rhythm, but they will learn lots from the older students, and will have a great time, too! (Students must attend all practices to participate in the football games.)
All Marching Band students must have the following supplies and uniform items:
Flip Folder (with extra pages)
Black calf length socks
Solid black shoes (no colors or logos should be visible)
Haynes Band t-shirt or sweatshirt
Black pants
We encourage everyone to bring a disposable rain poncho or two, just in case.
Our Jazz Band is looking forward to performing for our Halloween Concert on Oct. 25! We've got two tunes ready to go! We'll be holding a brief practice this Wednesday before Open House. We'll dismiss Jazz Band at 4:30, so they can have a quick pizza break before we perform.
We'll be performing "Fire Dance" for the Halloween concert, and will be picking our second tune on Tuesday. Our students are really improving every day!
Pirates is coming along, and our second piece will really embody the "spirit of Halloween" ... or maybe something closer to the water?
If you have not done so, please make sure that your student has their own copy of the Essential Elements for Band books 1 and 2, for their specific instrument. Shark Attack is a fun piece, and we'll be doing one or two others as well. We can't wait to perform for you!
"In the Hall of the Mountain King" is already sounding good, and "Hedwig's Theme" really sounds nice, too! We are having so much fun every class, and we are looking forward to performing soon!
Please visit our Calendar for all the latest updates, and feel free to contact Mr. Phelan at any time with questions or concerns. We look forward to seeing everyone soon!
