Congratulations !!!!

Congratulations to several of our Haynes Academy students, who were selected to this year's L. M. E. A. All State Honor Ensembles!

Four of our Haynes Academy musicians were selected to the All State Orchestra:

Thomas Lieu on viola

Hanson Lieu on cello

Zoe Heim was selected first chair on French Horn! ... and

David Russo was selected first chair on Percussion!

Cooper Belletto was selected first chair Alto Sax in the All State Jazz Band! ... and

Nischay Pothineni was selected first chair Clarinet in the All State Concert Band!

They will be performing with their respective groups at the L. M. E. A. convention in November.  Congratulations to all of these outstanding musicians!

Band Fee

The Haynes Academy Band charges a $30 annual fee, which covers the purchase of music, transportation, etc.  This fee has been posted to student accounts.  Please contact Mr. Phelan with questions or concerns.

High School Band

Band Pictures !!!

Please return picture packets to Mr. Phelan (or to the front office) ASAP.  There will be a $10 late fee added after this Friday, so don't be late!

Open House Performance

Our Marching Band will perform for the Prospective Students' Open House on Wednesday Oct. 18.  This is a great opportunity for us to introduce ouselves to potential new members!  We'll have more details as this event draws closer.

Marching Band

Our next football game is Saturday Oct. 14 at Yenni Stadium (at East Jefferson High School)

1:00 -- arrive stadium and unload

2:00 -- kickoff

4:30 -- load and dismiss

We will be seated on the HOME SIDE of the stadium for this event.

We will NOT meet at school.  Please deliver your student directly to the stadium, and pick them up from there as well.  We invite all parents and supporters to join us!  (Please note the new ticketing guidelines for Jefferson Parish events, and plan accordingly.). Also, any student wishing to leave from the stadium must be signed out by a parent.  Please contact Mr. Phelan with any questions or concerns.

All students are welcome to join us for Marching Band. They may not be able to play every note or rhythm, but they will learn lots from the older students, and will have a great time, too! (Students must attend all practices to participate in the football games.)

All Marching Bands students must have the following supplies and uniform items:

• Flip Folder (with extra pages)

• Black calf length socks

• Solid black shoes (no colors or logos should be visible)

• Haynes Band t-shirt or sweatshirt

• Black pants

• We encourage everyone to bring a disposable rain poncho or two, just in case.

Jazz Band

Jazz Band continues to improve each week!  We are looking forward to playing for you soon!

Middle School Band

7th and 8th Grade Winds

We have begun exploring "The Great Locomotive Chase" and it is FUUUUUUUUUN!

7th and 8th Grade Percussion

Pirates is coming along, and this week we may select a second piece to scare you :)

Beginning Band

If you have not done so, please make sure that your student has their own copy of the Essential Elements for Band book 1 and 2, for their specific instrument.   Shark Attack is a fun piece, and we'll be doing one or two others as well.  We can't wait to perform for you!

Beginning Percussion

We're doing well with Hedwig's Theme, and may surprise everyone with a second, equally fun piece!
