Costumes
**Please Note: All Costumes Are Rentals! Costumes will be at the theatre upon arrival and will be given to your dancer to put on in the dressing room or bathroom in the event of a need for privacy, with the help of a backstage mom or Apprentice/Teacher. All costumes must be returned to their bags once a dancer is done performing. Their Winter Show shirts will be worn for bows with the exception of our last 3 dances and our lead dancers.
Winter Show Costume Sheet
All costumes will be fit in class by our administrative staff and/or instructors. Minor alterations will be taken care of by the studio at no additional cost. Costumes will be brought to the theatre. All dancers are required to wear a skin tone leotard or other male approved undergarments underneath their costume for changing purposes. Dancers should arrive with these undergarments on underneath their street clothes.

How to return your costume rental
At the end of each show, dancers must return their costume rental pieces and garment bag. Bins or racks will be set up in each dressing room for these items to be placed in.
Please make sure your dancer brings something else to change into after the show!
Costumes returned with missing or damaged pieces will be charged a $40 replacement fee, so please remember to double-check the pieces before returning them.

Makeup
For our first-year parents- you are probably thinking, "Makeup?! Why does my child need to wear makeup?" We're so glad you asked! Dancers wear make-up on stage to enhance their facial features, which can be washed out under the harsh stage lights. Younger dancers just need a little bit of light makeup applied to counteract the stage lights. A little eye shadow, mascara, blush, and pink lipstick will help your dancer shine even more on stage! It does help to practice ahead of time if you think it might bother him or her.
If you are unsure of how to apply stage makeup, the website link below has a helpful step-by-step guide on how to apply stage makeup for dancers. Dancers should use a natural colored eyeshadow palette in browns or greys. Younger dancers should wear pink lipstick while older dancers should wear red lipstick. Older dancers should also wear fake eyelashes. The link below has a step-by-step guide to help you if needed.

Younger Dancers (ages 1.5-9): Make-up for this group is foundation (optional), pink blush, brown/grey eyeshadow, a little mascara (if they will let you!), and pink lipstick. A little goes a long way here!
Older dancers (10-Adult): Make-up for this group is foundation, blush, brown/grey eyeshadow, mascara, eyeliner, and dark pink or red lipstick.
Boys: Make-up for boys is foundation (optional), pink blush, brown/grey eyeshadow, a little mascara (if they will let you!) and for lipstick, one shade darker than skin tone so the lips stand out!
WHAT YOU NEED:
1. Basic makeup brush set
2. Foundation (slightly darker than your complexion)
3. Eyeshadow palette with at least 3 complementary
colors (stay away from flashy colors, NATURAL IS BETTER!)
4. Eyeliner (black)
5. Mascara (black)
6. Blush
7. Lip Liner (dark red)
8. Colorstay lipstick (dark red or pink)
