Is there a long-term commitment required? - No. All of our rentals are done on a month-to-month basis, though you can choose to pay for the entire school year up front. With month-to-month rentals, you can continue for as long or as short as you like.
What happens if we pay for the entire school year, but we end up not needing the rental for that entire term? - You would get a refund for the unused months. Upon the return of the rental, you would receive a refund check.
How do I get my rental once I've paid? - Rented instruments are distributed directly to the student, either to the school classroom or to the student's home.
Does Joyful Noise Rentals have a store I can visit? - We do not. One of the ways we are able to keep our prices so low is because we do not have a brick and mortar store and the extra overhead costs that go along with one. If you are interested in seeing the instruments we have to rent, we normally come directly to your home. Convenience is key.
What if my student decides to play a different instrument after we start our rental? No problem! We can switch out one instrument for another. There is no charge for changing instruments, but if your new rental is from a higher tier, there will be a price adjustment.
What if my rental needs repair? - It happens. Joyful Noise Rentals offers a FREE maintenance program that covers you if anything happens to the instrument, whereas you will pay around $7/month with other companies. Typically, we pick up the instrument in need of repair within 24 hours upon notice of the needed repair. The instrument will be exchanged with one of our loaner instruments while your rental is being repaired.
Can we purchase the instrument we are renting? - If not the exact instrument you are renting, you can purchase a used instrument just like it. Fifty percent of rental fees paid to date go toward the purchase of a used instrument. Costs vary, but generally, quality used instruments range from $300 to $650, depending on the instrument. Trumpets and trombones tend to be on the lower end of that range, whereas flutes, clarinets, and especially saxophones are on the higher end.
