ABSTRACT
Community-based waste management requires educational media capable of presenting information and concrete examples of waste utilization. MUESA (Museum Edukasi Sampah) was developed as an exhibition-based educational medium for waste management that integrates waste bank products, waste management information, storytelling, and access to digital information through QR codes. This activity aimed to implement MUESA as an educational medium for waste management, introduce products made through waste utilization, and increase public awareness of the role of waste banks. The activity was conducted on July 19, 2026, at the Waste Bank Education Museum, Tegal Besar Village, Kaliwates District, Jember Regency, involving 50 participants. The implementation included preparing the exhibition space and products, developing the MUESA website, organizing the exhibition, delivering educational activities by KKN students, storytelling, and facilitating participant interaction through question-and-answer sessions and discussions. The activity resulted in the exhibition of 10 products from the waste bank community, the availability of the MUESA website and QR codes as digital information media, and the implementation of educational activities and participant interactions. The exhibited products included aromatherapy candles and soap made from used cooking oil as examples of converting waste into products with functional value. The sustainability of the program was demonstrated by the continued operation of MUESA and the continuation of waste bank activities. Changes in participants’ knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors could not be measured because the activity did not employ a structured evaluation.
