My mission is to cultivate a classroom environment where all students can grow into confident, independent, and resilient individuals. Regardless of their academic skills, they will exceed their perceived potential and achieve independence beyond the classroom. By offering opportunities for inquisitive, creative, and innovative thinking through authentic and enjoyable learning experiences, I aim to foster a lifelong love of learning.
I graduated from Ashford University with a degree in Business Administration. While I initially pursued a career in business, my true passion emerged when I became a parent—educating and empowering young minds to reach their full potential. My mission is to plant seeds of curiosity and inspire lifelong learners who will one day shape the world in their own unique ways. As Oscar Wilde once said, “Life is too important to be taken seriously.” I believe that the most meaningful learning happens through joyful exploration and hands-on discovery. That idealistic, starry-eyed belief still drives me today.
My teaching journey began in 2007 in a preschool setting while my husband, David, and I were starting our family. As our children grew, so did my professional path, eventually leading me to middle school education. Now in my ninth year teaching middle school—and my fourth year with Joshua ISD—I remain deeply passionate about creating engaging and purposeful learning experiences for my students.
I was born in the Philippines and raised on the island of Maui, Hawaii, where I grew up surrounded by beauty, culture, and community. In 2007, David and I took a leap of faith and moved to Burleson, Texas, which we now proudly call home. We’ve been married for 22 years and are the proud parents of two children: Audrey, 20, who is currently forging her own path, and Davin, 15, a sophomore at Joshua High School. Our family also includes our three beloved fur babies—Teddy Bear, Maggie Bawaggie, and Korben Dallas.
Outside of the classroom, I cherish time with my family. Whether it’s watching movies, RV camping, cooking together, or just enjoying each other’s company, these simple moments bring me joy and balance. Recently, I rekindled a longtime passion for hula and Polynesian dance and joined a local Polynesian entertainment group. This summer, I even convinced my husband to dust off his ukulele and drumming skills—he’s now a musician in the group as well! This shared passion has also given me the opportunity to help teach hula and Tahitian dance in Fort Worth and Burleson, blending my love for culture and education in a truly meaningful way.
