Our jazz and contemporary music ensemble performs original arrangements of jazz standards, funk/soul classics and contemporary favorites. Singers develop authentic style through an aural-oral learning process and required listening. Admission is by invitation based on audition and/or participation in other ensembles, as well as potential as a jazz performer. No previous jazz experience required. Open to both music majors and non-majors.
AUDITIONS: Contemporary Commercial Music students (voice focus) are automatically accepted. Auditions are required for all other students (including music majors). The audition consists of an individual audition to assess vocal technique, followed by a group audition to assess ensemble skills. Both components are required.
