National Honor Society is a club for eligible juniors and seniors dedicated to scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Students eligible for National Honor Society must have a cumulative 3.75 GPA and go through a screening process in order to be inducted into the club. Eligible students will be notified of their eligibility in early September, prior to induction. The induction ceremony will be held in late September.
Once students are inducted to NHS, they are required to maintain a certain number of community service hours. As of our bylaw revisions at the end of the 2021-2022 school year, all NHS members must complete a minimum of ten service hours from events sponsored by National Honor Society (formerly referred to as "in club hours"). The club will host a variety of events and projects to enable students to meet this requirement.
The JHS chapter of the National Honor Society is quite proud of the expansive projects it has completed in past years. If you would like to partner with NHS for a service project, please feel free to email me at katie.hamilton@jonesboroschools.net.
