KS3 ICT
In their recent ICT lessons, KS3 students participated in the annual Bebras UK Challenge. The Bebras Challenge, organised by the Raspberry Pi Foundation in partnership with the University of Oxford, introduces students to computational thinking.
We are incredibly proud of all the students who took part and would like to celebrate some of their exceptional achievements.

Here is a snapshot from a practical session during Chemistry Week, where students created sustainable plastic using potato starch.
The results were fantastic, and this photo features Samarah proudly holding her finished product.

At Chance to Shine, we're proud to have worked with The John Warner School for many years, creating positive impacts on students’ lives. These young leaders from the school have supported local cricket festivals, our Chance to Compete event, and the Dynamos County Festivals.
Hayley Wood-Thompson, PE Teacher at John Warner School, shared, "None of this would have been possible without focusing on developing cricket at the school, with help from Chance to Shine."
Last year, in partnership with IG, a group of secondary school leaders delivered a cricket session for IG employees, before designing and pitching ideas for a cricket festival.
Ruth, a student at John Warner School, said, "It’s really fun to use the skills I’ve learnt to teach others and help them enjoy cricket!"
These activities not only show their leadership in cricket but also highlight the transferable skills they're gaining for the future.
As Ian Gregory, Chance to Shine's Schools Programme Manager, said, "The Girls Leadership Programme proves that these girls are not only great cricket leaders but also developing skills that will serve them in every part of their lives."
Here's to inspiring the next generation of female cricket leaders!
