Dear Swift Creek Middle School Families,
It has been another busy and exciting week at Swift Creek Middle School! As we continue settling into the school year, our students have been working hard in the classroom, demonstrating their Wolf Pack pride, and representing SCMS with excellence.
📚 Finishing MAP Testing
This week, we are wrapping up our MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) testing in reading and math.
MAP is a computerized adaptive assessment administered three times throughout the school year. Because the assessment is adaptive, the difficulty of the questions adjusts based on each student’s responses. This allows us to gain a clearer picture of what each student currently knows, what skills they are developing, and what they are ready to learn next.
The information from MAP testing is an important tool for our teachers. Results help us:
Identify students’ strengths and areas for growth.
Plan instruction that meets students where they are.
Provide targeted support and enrichment.
Monitor academic growth throughout the school year.
We are proud of the focus and effort our students have demonstrated during testing. Families can continue to support students by encouraging them to do their best, get plenty of rest, arrive at school on time, and remember that MAP is an opportunity to show what they know and how much they can grow!
🏐 Wolf Pack Victory!
Congratulations to our SCMS Volleyball Team on an impressive victory over North Johnston Middle School! Our Wolves came ready to compete and earned the win in convincing fashion.
We are proud not only of their performance on the court, but also of the teamwork, determination, and school spirit they displayed while representing Swift Creek Middle School. Way to go, Wolves! 🐺🏐
