The deadline for JCPS New and Stop Out students to submit a complete CCP Sum/Fall 2021 Application Packet is Wednesday, March 10, 2021. Students currently enrolled in a Spring 2021 class at JCC will receive detailed instructions through the CCP Spring 2021 Google Classroom.


New and Stop Out students that would like more information about CCP and/or would like to complete the CCP Application Packet on or before March 10, 2021, should click on the link below and follow Steps 1-3 for JCPS students on the "Apply to CCP" page. We recommend that students read all of the instructions on the Application Instructions page before completing steps 1-3.

North Carolina's Career & College Promise (CCP) Program allows eligible high school students to enroll in college classes at any Community College in North Carolina. Students who successfully complete college courses earn college credit they can take with them after graduation. In many cases, students earn dual credit by meeting high school graduation requirements with college courses. CCP offers high school students options to pursue educational and career goals of their choice using a rigorous yet supportive structure designed to help them become successful through these opportunities:

  • College Transfer - Designed for students planning to continue their educational career beyond high school to eventually achieve an Associate's or Bachelor's degree at a community college or university.

  • Career & Technical Education - Allows students to begin a certification or diploma program in a particular technical field or career area.

Juniors & Seniors

Eligible juniors and seniors may participate in CCP College Transfer Pathways and CCP Career and Technical Education Pathways.

To be eligible for enrollment, the student must have:

  • Rising junior or senior status
    AND

  • Minimum grade/readiness requirements:

    • 2.8/+ unweighted high school GPA
      OR

    • Demonstrate readiness on approved assessments in English, Reading, and Math (view benchmarks)

Juniors and seniors not meeting the above criteria may participate in CCP Career and Technical Education Pathways.

To be eligible for enrollment in a CTE pathway, the student must have:

  • Recommendation of the High School Principal and their rationale for recommendation in place of GPA requirement (assessment scores should be considered)
    AND

  • Recommendation of the College's Chief Academic Officer


Freshmen & Sophomores

Eligible freshmen and sophomores may participate in a limited number of CCP Career and Technical Education Pathways.

To be eligible for enrollment, the 9th/10th grade student must have:

  • Recommendation of the High School Principal and their rationale for recommendation in place of GPA requirement (assessment scores should be considered)
    AND

  • Recommendation of the College's Chief Academic Officer
    AND

  • Minimum grade/readiness requirements:

    • C/+ in Math I AND 3/+ Math I EOC score AND 3/+ (8th grade) ELA EOG score
      OR

    • Demonstrate readiness on approved assessments in English, Reading, and Math (view benchmarks)
