School Counselor/PBIS Coordinator/BAC
Hello, my name is Jeanette Cantrell. I have been working in public education for the past twenty-two years. I began my teaching career at W.R. Castle teaching 5th and 6th math in 2002, and currently serve as the school counselor. I graduated from Morehead State University with a Bachelor in Arts in Middle School Education in 2001, and a Master of Arts in Education in 2006. I earned my Rank I from Union College in Supervision of Instruction and a Master in School Counseling from Campbellsville University. I am a mother of two wonderful children and have a son-in-law of whom I am fortunate enough to call my colleague. I also drive bus #91 for the Johnson County School's Transportation Department.
As the school counselor it is my mission to provide students with a positive school climate that cultivates acceptance, empathy, and perseverance through school wide activities, classroom instruction, small group, and individual counseling. In partnership with other educators, parents and guardians, and the community, the school counselor will advocate for a school environment that will address the academic, social-emotional, and college and career development of all students in order to ensure lifelong empowerment.
