ABOUT THE DIRECTOR
Ms. Bailey Schneyr is in her second year at Johnsburg High School as the Band Director. She directs the Concert Band, Marching Band, Percussion Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, and Pep Band.
Before coming to Johnsburg, Ms. Schneyr taught middle school band and choir in Fox River Grove, Illinois. Additionally, she directed the color guard at Crystal Lake Central High School for five years. As a student, she attended Prairie Ridge High School where she was inspired by her own high school band director to join band and enter the field of music education! Ms. Schneyr graduated with her degree in K-12 Music Education from Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin. While there, she participated in band, pit orchestra, philharmonic orchestra, jazz band, drumline, pep band, flute ensemble, percussion ensemble, trumpet studio, and choir.
Outside of school, she is an active performer with the Crystal Lake Strikers Drumline and has been on staff as an instructor for their educational drumlines and competitive winterguard. She performs in pit orchestras in Woodstock, IL and Kenosha, WI playing saxophone, clarinet, bass clarinet, and flute/piccolo. Over the summers, she regularly subs as a flute player in the Woodstock City Band.
Ms. Schneyr is also a triplet and both of her sisters are teachers! Allie teaches elementary ELL (English Language Learners) and Nicole teaches elementary special education. They all particpated in high school color guard together, and now, Nicole is the Color Guard Director at Illinois State University!
