Let yourself grow as a person. Try new things but don’t forget the things you’ve been taught. There are people here that care about you and want to see you be happy and successful. Always put your faith in God.
2. How was the transition from high school to college for you?
I went to high school in Oklahoma. My parents were very strict. When I got to Tulane, I had no one to tell me what to do. I was not prepared to handle my new found freedom. Believe it or not, I was wild. Eventually I got tired of that lifestyle. I met my husband and with his help, I got my life back together
3. As a teacher what have you learned from your students?
Students are people. Young people today are very resilient. I try to never underestimate any of my students. I find that they tend to live up to the standards and expectations that are set.
1. What advice would you give to your seniors leaving?
Whatever you decide to do after High School, strive to be the best. It is a competitive world and you must set yourself apart from the rest.
2. How was the transition from high school to college for you?
I graduated over 30 years ago and times have definitely changed. It was a smooth transition for me because I knew what I wanted to do in college and was able to not waste time and money trying to figure out my path. Graduate’s these days have a lot more to figure out because college can be very expensive if you don’t know what you want to accomplish.
3. As a teacher what have you learned from your students?
I have learned that students today are being forced to grow up and mature at earlier ages and they need solid leadership to guide them.
1. What advice would you give to your seniors leaving?
Always follow your heart and stay true to yourself. Don't worry about anything Pray about everything!! Even though life is hard and doesn't go your way try to stay positive and Know that everything happens for a reason. God has a plan and we have to have faith in his plan. Take your time and enjoy life, it goes in a blink of an eye!!! Money is meant to be spent!
2. How was the transition from high school to college for you?
It was exciting and scary all at the same time. I knew I had to learn to be independent. I had to make sure I took care of my responsibilities first and then had fun.
3. As a teacher what have you learned from your students?
Always try and be kind to others and to remember that the little things matter. Also, they teach me every day to not take life for granted.
