My name is Ryan Kramer. I am currently an uncommitted Senior at The Latin School of Chicago. I am a dedicated team player and my coaches and teammates consider me a leader both on and off the field. Baseball is my passion and it is my goal to play at a school where I can make an impact on the field, as well as be challenged in the classroom.

I have been a starter on the Latin School Varsity Baseball Team, playing 3rd base and 1st base when I am not on the mound, since my Freshman year when I was selected for the All Conference First Team. As a Junior, I was named Independent School League Player of the Year, was selected for the All Conference First Team and was named Most Valuable Player by my coaches. Additional 2021 High School Season Highlights include:

  • Throwing a Perfect Game - CG, 6 innings pitched, 18 BF, 15 SO

  • Leading My Team in Strikeouts - 72 SO in 36.2 IP

  • Having the Lowest ERA on the Team - 0.57 ERA

  • Leading the Team in Hits & RBIs - 31 H, 34 RBI

  • Achieving the Highest Batting Average, On Base Percentage, Slugging Percentage, and On Base Plus Slugging Percentage on the Team - .534 BA, .627 OBP, 1.069 SLG, 1.696 OPS

In 2019, I was selected by former MLB Pitcher Jim Parque to represent the USA at the Latin American Baseball Classic World Games in Santo Domingo. I traveled to the Dominican Republic as one of only a few hundred players selected nationwide to participate on the USA teams (9u-18u). While initially selected to play on the 16U team (as a 15 year old), Coach Parque moved me up to the 18u team. At the end of the week, I was one of two 18u USA players selected for the All Tournament Team which was made up of 18 year old players from all the countries represented at the games. In addition to playing baseball, being a part of Team USA required a very important service component. We were asked to bring used/new baseball equipment with us to donate to Dominican players who desperately needed these items. I worked hard to collect 4 duffle bags of baseball equipment (200lbs) which I brought with me to donate. This trip taught me a lot about baseball, but more importantly it opened my eyes to life in a third world country and how fortunate I am to live in the states, go to a good high school, have the opportunity to go to college, and play the sport I love.
