As a member of Econolitical, you will come out more economically knowledgable and globally aware of the vast world around you! Members are given the chance to learn fundamental concepts like supply and demand, scarcity, and opportunity cost while discussing the world's most pressing economic issues. We will be taking a close look at how individual countries and regions' economies are affected by factors including but not limited to war, disease, etc. How is Covid-19 interconnected to the rise of small entrepreneurial businesses in Indonesia? How does the Russia-Ukraine invasion affect the rest of the world's prices for certain resources and goods? What drove Biden and his administration to discuss student loan forgiveness, and what will the effects be like on the U.S economy? These are three of many questions that this club will examine. Members will be provided with opportunities to conduct personal research, meet guest speakers in the field of economics, and many more! Seeing as there is an economics and general business curriculum gap in the Middle School campus, members will be able to partake in writing a Middle School newsletter or physical magazine regarding said topics. Econolitical combines economics and international affairs while pushing forward opportunities for personal research and discussion, making it safe to say that anyone interested in this niche or merely one of these topics, newcomer or not, is surely welcome to join!

"Everything Metaverse, Blockchain, DeFi, NFTs, Cryptocurrency! For the first time in JIS history, the Dragon Metaverse Club opens an opportunity for students to explore the power of technologies in the booming industry of the metaverse, Bitcoin, NFTs, Blockchain, and DeFi. This club is designed for students who have an interest in the future of finance, technology, AI, and the evolution of money. Since Bitcoin’s launch in 2009, cryptocurrency and decentralized ledger technology or also known as blockchain, have emerged as an economic force majeure, revolutionizing the ways people interact and perceive the value of money. Central to the concept of the metaverse is the idea that virtual, 3D environments that are accessible and interactive in real time will become the transformative medium for social and business engagement.
The time for blockchain is is NOW: as a technology of trust, blockchain will generate $3.1 billion USD in value across all industry verticals. As the world is increasingly online, this paradigm shift will be accelerated in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic. Data is the new oil and identity is the new money. This means that in a few years time, there will be a blast in job opportunities in the area of blockchain, DeFi, and cryptocurrencies."
