Jim’s Towing Service Helps Students Go Back to School
One of the exciting things about returning to school is having a new backpack and brand-new school supplies. These purchases can often be a burden to families.
During the first week of August, Jim’s Towing Service put out the word on their Facebook page that said this:
“Jim’s Towing Service would like to help kids in need of school supplies. **Teachers if you know of any students needing backpacks and/or supplies, PM us.”
By the next day, messages were arriving from parents and school personnel sharing information about students in need of help with supplies for the upcoming school year.
“We wanted to make this a personal experience for the kids, so we asked if they liked certain colors or themes,” said Jim’s Towing Service owner Brandon Church. “We were also able to help purchase students new school shoes as well.”
$2500 was budgeted to help students in the Silver Valley community, and 15 students from throughout the Silver Valley community were helped by this generous donation.
“We like to help give to our community, and, as students head back to school, we thought this would be a way we could help local families,” said Church.
Jim’s Towing Service employees gathered together to put the backpacks together. Some of the supplies are being personally delivered to some families to make it more convenient for them.
