Our Project

To get first hand insight on what goes on at shelters we decided to volunteer at our local shelter, LCHS. First we had to get in touch with their staff, complete all online training videos, and lastly take an in person tour of the facility. After completing all necessary steps we were allowed to start volunteering. We volunteered several times during this project and plan on continuing to go monthly. 

To help out the animals at LCHS we set up a donations box at one of our High School's basketball games. We created a flyer to post on social media and hang up around the school. We did this not only to help get the shelter supplies, but also to bring awareness about our local shelter. We provided fostering information at our table for people to take and read.

To get more information about the LCHS fostering and adopting program, we created and sent out a questionnaire to people who have adopted and fostered. We asked them questions about the animals they experienced and the impact the animal had on their mental well being.
