Reading Intervention is a targeted instructional program designed to strengthen students’ reading and writing skills at their individual instructional levels. In the Reading Lab, our goal is to provide focused, research-based support in a small-group setting, allowing each student to receive the explicit guidance, practice, and feedback they need to build a strong literacy foundation.
Students are identified for Reading Intervention through a combination of teacher recommendations, schoolwide Acadience benchmark assessments, and data from the GL Ready dyslexia screener. These tools help us determine which students would benefit most from additional, structured literacy support and allow us to tailor instruction to their specific needs.
